Bet you thought I'd start this with 'Go!'...

So as you may have inferred, I ran a race. An organised race. It was my first one too. Pretty exciting.

The race was in Central Park. It was only a 4 mile (6.4 km), but over 6000 people gave it the feel of something a lot bigger than a casual run in the Park.

The conditions were insane. I had to be in Central Park at 8am to pick up my race bib and shoe tag (all things I had never seen before in my life and which I know refer to so casually - "oh j...

Central Park stride

Winter officially has New York in it's grip.

Yesterday, I was standing in my kitchen, making a sandwich, when I looked up and saw a few white specks floating in the air. I remember clearly saying out loud, to no one but myself, "what the f@#k?", running to the balcony and confirming for myself that they were indeed the first few flakes of winter snow. So cool! It snowed for about 3 or 4 hours, leaving a fine white blanket on the floor.
